Biography

Ms. Aishath Hassan has been a lecturer in the Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, The Maldives National University since 2017.

Aishath has dedicated her career to improving public health in the Maldives since 2009. Beyond academia, Aishath actively contributes to national health initiatives. She serves as a member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) and the National Advisory Board for the Promotion and Protection of Breastfeeding, representing MNU.

Before becoming a lecturer, Aishath gained valuable experience working in various roles within the Ministry of Health and the Health Protection Agency. Aishath’s commitment to public health began with her experience as a senior community health officer at various peripheral health facilities under the Ministry of Health.

She further demonstrated her expertise working as a program officer at the CDC grant and national surveillance program at the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and senior public health program officer at the national immunization program.
