The Maldives National University Library conducted a refresher training session on Web of Science on 21 October 2025, with participation from MNU staff and students through both physical and online modes.

The session was conducted online by Subhasree Nag, Lead Regional Solutions Consultant, Customer Success and Strategy – South APAC. The training introduced participants to new features and functionalities of the Web of Science platform and highlighted the benefits of creating personal accounts to maximise access to indexed research content and research-related tools.

A key focus of the session was the creation and management of researcher profiles, including guidance on linking ORCID IDs with Web of Science. Participants were also encouraged to maintain their research profiles by ensuring that their published research is properly connected to their Web of Science records.

The session further highlighted the importance of actively publishing research and building professional networks within researchers’ respective fields. Participants were introduced to how research networking and collaboration can support opportunities for accessing research funding and developing wider academic connections.

The training provided MNU staff and students with practical knowledge to make more effective use of Web of Science and strengthen their research visibility, discovery, and collaboration opportunities.
