The Maldives National University Library conducted a Search Strategies and Information Evaluation Session to help students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies develop the skills needed to search academic databases efficiently and retrieve relevant scholarly information for their studies and research.

The two-hour session was held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and attended by 28 students from the Advanced Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Semester 1

Students were introduced to practical search strategies to help them locate relevant and reliable information for their academic work. The session also highlighted the importance of evaluating information sources based on factors such as relevance, credibility, accuracy, and currency.

The session forms part of the MNU Library’s ongoing information literacy initiatives, supporting students in developing essential research skills and making effective use of academic information resources.

The session supported quality education and lifelong learning by helping students produce credible academic work. These skills also prepare students for ethical professional practice and encourage academic integrity. By sharing educational resources and research skills with students, the library contributed to the exchange of knowledge that supports partnerships for the goals.
