The Maldives National University Library conducted an APA Referencing Session to help students of the Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism Studies develop essential academic referencing skills and understand the importance of acknowledging sources in their academic work.

The two-hour session was held from 13:00 pm to 15:00 pm and attended by 30 students from Clll in Culinary Arts and Clll in Patisserie.

The session provided practical guidance on APA 7th Edition referencing, including how to create accurate in-text citations and reference lists for different types of sources, such as books, journal articles, websites, and online resources. Participants also learned about paraphrasing, summarizing, quoting, and avoiding plagiarism through appropriate referencing practices.

The session supported quality education and lifelong learning by helping students produce credible academic work. These skills also prepare students for ethical professional practice and encourage academic integrity. By sharing educational resources and research skills with students, the library contributed to the exchange of knowledge that supports partnerships for the goals.
