The Ilmee Fovahi Seminar, organized annually by the Research Centre and hosted this year by the Department of Humanities Education, Faculty of Education, was conducted as part of the Faculty’s Lifelong Learning public engagement initiatives. Titled “Dependence on Private Tuition for Learning,” the seminar brought together parents, students, teachers, and community members to discuss the growing reliance on private tuition, its impact on student learning and well-being, and the importance of effective classroom teaching and parental involvement.
The session provided a platform for dialogue, awareness-building, and collaboration among stakeholders to promote sustainable learning practices. The initiative supports SDG 4: Quality Education through improved learning opportunities, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by addressing academic pressure, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through informed educational dialogue, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through stakeholder collaboration.
