Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) students visited the Maldives Meteorological Service to gain practical knowledge of how weather data is collected, monitored, analyzed, and communicated for forecasting and climate monitoring. The visit provided an authentic learning experience, enhancing students’ understanding of meteorological processes and demonstrating how real-world scientific data can be integrated into primary science teaching. The activity supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting experiential learning, SDG 13: Climate Action by increasing awareness of weather, climate, and environmental sustainability, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between the Faculty of Education and the Maldives Meteorological Service. The visit equipped future teachers with practical strategies for incorporating environmental and climate-related concepts into classroom learning while fostering scientific literacy and sustainability awareness.
