The Faculty of Shari’ah and Law (FSL) of The Maldives National University conducted religious lectures and forums across 10 islands of Alif Dhaalu Atoll during Ramadan 1447, promoting Islamic knowledge, raising public awareness of Islamic teachings, and strengthening community engagement through religious education.
The program was delivered by academic staff from the Department of Shari’ah and the Department of Islamic Studies, alongside invited Islamic scholars from outside the University. The sessions were conducted upon request, providing communities with opportunities to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings and engage in meaningful religious learning.
Through these community-based initiatives, FSL continued its commitment to sharing academic and religious knowledge beyond the University and supporting the spiritual and educational development of Maldivian communities.
This initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by promoting lifelong learning; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by strengthening community participation and social cohesion; and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by encouraging awareness of values that support peaceful and inclusive communities.
