On 8th and 9th October 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Fathimath Shougee participated in the specialised workshop, “Integrating Robotics into Education,” hosted by The Maldives National University (MNU). The workshop provided faculty members with practical knowledge, tools, and frameworks for incorporating educational robotics into contemporary teaching and learning environments, with a particular focus on enhancing student engagement, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
The programme introduced participants to innovative approaches for integrating robotics into classroom instruction and demonstrated how technology can be effectively used to support learning across different subject areas. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, participants explored strategies for designing meaningful learning experiences that foster critical thinking, computational skills, and STEM competencies among students.
Dr. Shougee’s participation reflects the Faculty of Education’s ongoing commitment to strengthening technology-enhanced pedagogy and promoting innovative teaching practices. The knowledge gained through the workshop will support efforts to prepare future educators to effectively integrate emerging technologies into their teaching and to create engaging learning environments that meet the demands of twenty-first century education.
The activity supports SDG 4: Quality Education by enhancing educators’ professional knowledge and promoting innovative teaching and learning practices. It also contributes to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the advancement of educational technology and the development of STEM-related competencies. Furthermore, the workshop supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional engagement among academics and educational institutions.
