Dissemination workshop on the ‘National Protocol on Nursing Assessment’ and the ‘National Protocol on Nursing Documentation’.

A dissemination workshop on the National Protocol on Nursing Assessment and the National Protocol on Nursing Documentation was conducted online by the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council (MNMC) to strengthen standardized nursing practice across healthcare institutions in the Maldives. The session was facilitated by consultant Ms. Aminath Shiuna and focused on enhancing nurses’ understanding of systematic patient assessment, accurate clinical documentation, and the importance of maintaining high-quality nursing records. The workshop emphasized the role of standardized protocols in improving patient safety, continuity of care, and evidence-based nursing practice. Participants were guided through key components of both protocols and their practical application in clinical settings.

The workshop improved nurses’ knowledge and awareness of national standards for assessment and documentation, promoting consistency in nursing practice across healthcare facilities. It strengthened clinical decision-making, improved documentation quality, and supported safer patient care. The wide participation also enhanced national-level alignment in nursing practice and reinforced collaboration between MNMC and healthcare institutions in advancing professional standards.
