Community Health Event
Bachelor of Nursing students conducted a community health event under the theme “Prevention Is Better Than Cure.” The event provided accessible health education to community members on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, early identification of health risks, and appropriate help-seeking. Students translated classroom learning into practical health-promotion activities and communicated key messages in a clear and engaging manner. The programme supported community participation, preventive healthcare, quality nursing education, equitable access to health information, and collaboration between MNU and the public.
The event increased community awareness of preventive health practices and encouraged participants to make informed decisions about their health. It also strengthened students’ communication, teamwork, leadership, and health-education skills through authentic community engagement. The programme improved links between MNU and the community and demonstrated the value of nursing students in promoting healthier behaviours and early prevention.
