Maldives Resilient Reefs (MRR) has contributed to the Basic Ranger Training Course conducted by the Maldives National University (MNU) in Laamu Atoll, delivering practical sessions focused on seagrass and coral reef monitoring techniques.
The training brought together participants from Laamu, Addu, Alif Dhaalu, Shaviyani and Baa atolls, who explored some of the biodiverse marine habitats around MRR’s home base in Laamu Atoll. The session equipped participants with hands-on skills to support local conservation efforts. The collaboration reflects MRR’s ongoing commitment to strengthening local capacities for marine resource management and empowering communities in conservation. Participants gained practical exposure to monitoring techniques essential for careers in marine science and environmental protection.
MRR, a Maldives-registered NGO supported this activity under an MOU with MNU.
