The Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE) at The Maldives National University (MNU) conducted the first webinar in the EduTech Symposium Edition 2, series 1 on 22 October 2026, with 17 participants.

The webinar, titled “Inclusive Education & Assistive Technology: Theory to Practice,” featured Dr. Mahamood Shaugee, Chancellor of The Maldives National University, as the speaker. The session was moderated by Roza Ibrahim, Head of CETE.

The webinar explored the role of assistive technology in promoting inclusive education and connecting theory with practical teaching and learning approaches. It provided participants with insights into how technology can support diverse learning needs and improve access to educational opportunities.

The session supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by highlighting the importance of reducing barriers to learning through assistive technology and inclusive educational practices.

The webinar was organised as part of the pre-event activities for EduTech Symposium Edition 2, CETE’s flagship event, which brings together educators, researchers, and innovators to explore how technology can transform education.

Through the EduTech Webinar Series, CETE continues to encourage knowledge sharing and promote the effective use of technology to support inclusive and innovative teaching and learning.
