The Maldives National University (MNU) is the Maldives’ first and leading university, nationally recognised for its contributions to education, research, innovation, and nation-building. Since its establishment, MNU has been dedicated to creating, discovering, preserving, and disseminating knowledge that enhances the lives and livelihoods of people, while supporting the cultural, social, and economic development of the nation.

MNU’s main campus is located in Malé, the capital city of the Maldives, with four additional campuses strategically positioned across the country to ensure equitable access to quality higher education nationwide. These include the Kulhudhufushi Campus in the North, and the Gan, Hithadhoo, and Thinadhoo Campuses in the Southern atolls. In addition, the University operates over 15 outreach centres across the Maldives, extending higher education opportunities to communities beyond its main campuses.

As a comprehensive national university, MNU delivers more than 260 academic programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels.
