On 12th November 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Fathimath Shougee and Senior Lecturer Zahira Mohamed participated in an online academic session titled “Climate Science & Pre-Regime Context.” The virtual seminar explored the relationship between climate science, historical policy frameworks, and the development of international environmental governance systems.
The session provided valuable insights into the scientific foundations of climate change and the evolution of global environmental policies. Participation in the programme strengthened understanding of environmental governance, sustainability challenges, and the role of evidence-based decision-making in addressing climate-related issues.
The activity supports SDG 4: Quality Education through continuous professional development and knowledge enhancement; SDG 13: Climate Action by increasing awareness and understanding of climate science and environmental sustainability; SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through discussions on policy and governance frameworks; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through international academic engagement and collaboration.
