Three lecturers from the Faculty of Education (FE) participated in a specialised session of the MNU Speaker Series, titled “Fahi Musthaq,” organised by the Marketing Department of Maldives National University (MNU) on 22 September 2025.
The session featured Dr. Azzam Naeem, an Artificial Intelligence researcher and finance professional with international experience across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States. Dr. Naeem shared insights into the evolving intersection of Artificial Intelligence, technology, and global finance, providing academic staff with a broader perspective on emerging industry trends and the integration of modern technologies across professional fields.
The session contributed to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education by supporting continuous professional development and enhancing educators’ awareness and understanding of emerging technologies. Exposure to current developments in AI and technology enables academic staff to broaden their knowledge and consider emerging trends within teaching and learning contexts.
The initiative also supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by promoting awareness of technological innovation and its applications across education and industry. Discussions on AI and its growing role in professional sectors contribute to greater awareness of technological developments and opportunities for innovation.
Furthermore, the Speaker Series aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and engagement between academia and wider professional communities. Such platforms strengthen connections between educational institutions and industry experts while facilitating the exchange of contemporary knowledge and perspectives.
The participation of FE lecturers in the “Fahi Musthaq” session reflects the Faculty’s commitment to continuous professional learning, technological awareness, innovation, and meaningful engagement with wider professional communities, contributing to quality education and the Sustainable Development Goals.
