Coastal Cleanup and First Aid Support

School of Nursing staff and students participated in the 2025 coastal cleanup organised with HDC, serving as first aid partners while supporting environmental action. Participants helped maintain a cleaner coastal environment, promoted responsible waste disposal, and remained prepared to provide immediate assistance if injuries or health concerns occurred during the activity. The initiative connected environmental protection with public health, experiential learning, community responsibility, climate action, protection of marine ecosystems, and institutional partnership.

The activity contributed to a cleaner coastal area, increased awareness of responsible waste management, and encouraged environmental stewardship among students, staff, and community participants. First aid support improved event safety and allowed nursing participants to apply their knowledge in a community setting. Collaboration with HDC strengthened institutional partnerships and demonstrated the relationship between environmental sustainability, community safety, and public health.
