Civil Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology (FEST), Maldives National University (MNU), visited Island Beverages Maldives (IBM) at the FEN Building, Malé, for an industrial exposure trip. The visit provided students with firsthand insight into IBM’s operations, including the TaZa bottled water production process, quality control measures, and manufacturing systems, while also introducing workplace safety protocols. Through a guided factory tour, students observed key civil engineering aspects of the facility, such as the RCC structural system, foundation, building planning, lighting and ventilation, construction materials, fire safety systems, and essential building services. The experience strengthened their understanding of how civil engineering principles are applied in the design, construction, and operation of a modern industrial facility, bridging classroom learning with real-world practice.
