A tree planting event was conducted on 1 September 2024 to celebrate the 51st anniversary of The Maldives National University.

Students and staff participated in planting 100 flowering plants in parks near the Thinadhoo jetty area. The focus on flowering plants aimed to beautify the city while contributing to greener and more welcoming public spaces.

The activity promoted environmental responsibility, urban beautification, biodiversity, climate awareness, and community engagement. It also provided students and staff with a hands-on opportunity to contribute to sustainable action.

In the long term, the planted trees and flowering plants can improve the local environment, support public well-being, and inspire continued environmental care.
