The Maldives National University (MNU) has signed an agreement with the R. Ungoofaaru Council to establish a new outreach center, marking a major milestone in expanding access to higher education across the nation. The ceremony took place in MNU following the Council’s formal handover of a building to MNU for long-term academic use.

The agreement was signed by Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam, and Ungoofaaru Council President Mr. Abdullah Rashid, at a special ceremony held to mark the milestone partnership.

MNU looks forward to working closely with the Ungoofaaru community to deliver academic programs that empower students, enhance local skills, and contribute to regional development. The outreach center is envisioned as the foundation of MNU campus in Ungoofaaru, offering diverse programs and fostering educational excellence beyond Male’.

The University emphasized that the project would generate wide-ranging benefits socially, economically, and environmentally for R. Ungoofaaru, and the entire country. It is also a crucial component of MNU’s ongoing efforts to decentralize educational services and promote regional development through academic excellence.
