Maldives National University (MNU) and Selangor Islamic University (SIU), Malaysia, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and joint research initiatives. The signing ceremony took place in central Administration building of MNU and was attended by distinguished representatives from both institutions.
In her welcome speech, Dr. Aishath Shehenaaz Adam, Vice Chancellor of Maldives National University, expressed her delight at hosting the SIU delegation. She highlighted the significance of the partnership as a step toward expanding research capabilities, exchanging academic expertise, and fostering intercultural understanding between the Maldives and Malaysia. “This MoU represents more than a formal agreement-it is a testament to our mutual commitment to advancing knowledge, education, and cultural ties,” she said, while extending special thanks to Dr. Latifah, Deputy Vice Chancellor of SIU, for her efforts in facilitating the collaboration.
