MNU InnovateHub is a pioneering initiative by The Maldives National University, created to foster innovation and entrepreneurial growth. As the first university incubator in the country, we provide a platform for students, alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs to build and scale impactful ventures.

MNU InnovateHub is the first university-led business incubator in the Maldives, established to support students and aspiring entrepreneurs in developing innovative ideas into successful ventures.
Students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or postgraduate program at The Maldives National University, who have completed at least one year of study, are eligible to apply. Additional eligibility criteria are outlined in the official policy document. Applicants are encouraged to review the policy for complete details.
Selected participants receive:
Applicants must submit a proposal through the designated Google Form, outlining their innovative idea, market potential, and implementation strategy. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel.
Applications will be evaluated based on criteria such as innovation and originality, market feasibility, team capability, potential impact, and sustainability. Additional assessment factors are outlined in the official policy. Please refer to the policy for complete details.
The program is managed by MNU’s Business Development Unit, with oversight from the MNU InnovateHub committee comprising university leaders, faculty, and reviewers.
The MNU InnovateHub was officially launched on 4 July 2024. Applications open on World Creativity and Innovation Day — 21 April 2025. Once the application period closes, shortlisted candidates will be invited to pitch their ideas. Pitch event dates will be announced after the review process, and all applicants will be notified accordingly.

Funding
We provide three levels of seed funding to catalyze early-stage innovation:
Small Seed Capital
Up to MVR 50,000
Mid-Range Seed Capital
Up to MVR 225,000
High-Range Seed Capital
Up to MVR 500,000
