Biography

Mr. Shaheeb Abdul Azeez is a lecturer in the Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, The Maldives National University.

Shaheeb’s career began with a Diploma in Primary Health Care from the Maldives College of Higher Education in 2004, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Management from Maldives National University in 2010. These qualifications laid the foundation for his notable contributions to health services.

In 2004, Shaheeb took on a crucial role as Health Care Manager at the Ministry of Health, applying his expertise in managing health services institutions, healthcare programs and health related policies. His academic journey continued with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in 2014 from Maldives National University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wales, equipping him with a unique blend of healthcare management and management skills.

Shaheeb joined the Maldives National University in 2013 as a lecturer of Public Health, and since then, he has played a key role in educating future public health professionals. Currently, he is the Head of Department of Public Health. His commitment extends beyond professional duties, as evidenced by his profession as Second Vice President of the Maldives Red Crescent from 2016 to 2019 and President of the Capital City Island Development Association from 2010 to 2011. Shaheeb’s career is marked by a passion for community health, dedication to public health education, and a deep understanding of health services management, making him a respected and influential person.
