Dr. Aishath Eleena

Dr. Aishath Eleena is the pioneering pediatric cardiologist in the Maldives, serving as the senior consultant subspecialist in pediatric cardiology at the National Cardiac Centre, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Formerly the head of the National Cardiac Centre, she currently leads the Department of Child Health at IGMH. Dr. Eleena completed her MBBS and MD in Pediatrics from Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine, Nepal, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology (Thai Subspecialty Board of Pediatric Cardiology) from Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Bangkok, Thailand, in June 2015. As a senior consultant subspecialist in pediatric cardiology at IGMH, Dr. Eleena is an active member of the Maldivian Medical Association and serves as the local course director for the Advanced Pediatric Life Support Program, Australia. She maintains strong connections with the thalassemia community in the Maldives and is a vocal advocate for high-quality care for thalassemia patients. Additionally, she is deeply involved in raising awareness about congenital heart disease and other cardiac conditions.
