Fathimath Shara Waheed is a visual artist and educator specialising in printmaking. She holds a Master of Fine Art and Design, specialising in Printmaking, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Printmaking, from the University of Tasmania, Australia. She was also a recipient of the Tasmanian International Scholarship during her undergraduate studies.
She currently serves as Coordinator and Lecturer in Visual Arts at The Maldives National University, where she has been teaching since 2021. Her areas of expertise include fine art, printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, art history, and visual arts education. Her research interests include arts education, art and health, creative well-being, visual culture, and arts-based research.
As an artist and educator, her practice engages with both traditional and contemporary approaches to visual art, with particular interests in printmaking, sculpture, and multidisciplinary creative practice.
