Dr. Khadeeja Rasheed is an Assistant Professor at the Maldives National University and a legal academic with expertise in law, governance, and public administration.
Admitted to practice law before the courts of the Maldives since 2004, prior to joining academia, Dr. Khadeeja Rasheed served as Assistant State Attorney and State Attorney at the Attorney General’s Office of the Maldives, where she advised on government legal matters and contributed to legal reform, public policy development, and public administration. She subsequently served as a Member of the Anti-Corruption Commission, contributing to the promotion of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
Dr. Khadeeja Rasheed has an active research profile, with eight published academic papers, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, one Scopus-indexed journal article, and a book chapter. Her research spans governance, public law, anti-corruption, legal education, family law, and related socio-legal issues, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to addressing contemporary legal and policy challenges. Through her scholarship, she contributes to legal discourse, evidence-based policymaking, and institutional development in the Maldives.
In addition to her academic and professional responsibilities, Dr. Khadeeja Rasheed has been actively involved in community service through volunteer initiatives, civic engagement, and election observation. She is fluent in Dhivehi and English, with working proficiency in Arabic.
