Ms. Afaa Mohamed is a lecturer in the Department of Behavioural Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences, The Maldives National University.

Ms. Afaa holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling and is a licensed counsellor in the Maldives. She is deeply committed to providing high-quality education and training to future counsellors. She teaches a variety of undergraduate courses in counselling, focusing on clinical skills development, Islamic counselling, and crisis intervention. She is also responsible for coordinating counselling placement and is involved in the clinical supervision of counselling students. Her research interests include disaster mental health and crisis intervention, and the cultural influences on mental health in the Maldives.
