Biography

Ms. Fathimath Shiranee completed her Master of Biomedical Sciences from Management and Science University, Malaysia in 2021. Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Curtin University, Western Australia in 2004, and a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Maldives National University in 2001.

She began her career at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital as a Laboratory Assistant in 1998 and later worked as a Laboratory Technologist from 2001 to 2002 before transitioning into academia. She joined the Maldives National University in 2005 as an Associate Lecturer and currently serves as Head of the Department of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, a position she has held since December 2022. She has also been instrumental in establishing the first Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science programme in the Maldives.
