Ziyan Abdul Rasheed currently works in The Maldives National University as a Research Assistant for the South Asian Nitrogen Hub Project (SANH). He had assisted and been a part of previous projects for The Maldives National University such as collecting data and analysis for the Market Survey Project conducted in collaboration with the Housing Development Cooperation in 2021. He completed his Bachelor of Laws in the University of Essex in 2020 with an Upper Second Class. He was also a part of the Tennis Men’s 2nd University team as the 1 st Player and competed successfully during the time of his degree.
He completed his Secondary Education in Strathmore Secondary School in Melbourne, Australia. Following his graduation, Ziyan worked as a Trainee Lawyer at SHC Law & Tax LLP where he held multiple responsibilities such as handling various Company Profiles and Foreign Investment Projects of both local and international capacities.
Ziyan shares a passion for Tennis, where he has competed professionally since the age of 10, where he was ranked number 1 for the under 10s, 12s, 14s and 16s. He was awarded a Scholarship from the Commonwealth where he trained in Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association in India while also studying in St. Stephen’s School in 2006 – 2009. He has represented The Maldives in junior international tournaments during this time. During his degree, he competed and was selected as a National Player for The Maldives in 2017,2018, and in 2021 after completion of his studies. He completed the ITF/TAM Play Tennis Course in 2022 and has worked as a head coach in Tennis Association Maldives.
