Changes to Academic Calendar

In adherence to the Government’s recent advice, MNU will remain closed until 4th April 2020, as part of the country’s ongoing response to the extraordinary Coronavirus health emergency. We support the Government’s prudent instructions to continue to keep educational institutions closed and prevent large gatherings. We are seeing tangible evidence of the effectiveness of these actions, and if protective measures are withdrawn prematurely there can be inevitable infections in densely populated areas like Male’.

We ask all our students and staff to stay safe, reduce going out of your homes and continue to practice social distancing.

Changes to Academic Calendar
In light of the evolving situation surrounding novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Government has declared that all government offices to be closed from March 19 – 26, 2020 as a safeguard.

As a result, MNU is forced to make the following changes to the academic calendar:

  • Effective Thursday, March 19, 2020, MNU is temporarily suspending all classes, including virtual or alternate format classes, till March 26, 2020.
  • Moving forward the Term-break to the week of March 22 – 26, 2020.

When MNU reopens, all efforts will be made to cover the academic sessions suspended during this period.

As a result of the escalating impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, the Health Protection Agency has ordered to suspend all the face-to-face (in-person) classes for a period of 14 days starting from 14th March till 28th March 2020.
