The Maldives National University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Edith Cowan University, Australia on 9th March 2017, Thursday. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef signed on behalf of MNU and Professor Craig Valli, the Director; ECU Security Research Institute signed the MOU on behalf ECU.
The objective of this MOU is to strengthen, promote and develop co-operation between both parties on the basis of equality and mutual benefit initially for a period of 5 years. Collaboration activities include exchange of documentations, faculty, staff and/or students, development of collaborative research projects, working to sign twinning agreements between scientific departments or centres with similar specialties in the universities and educational institutions of both institutions, organization of joint academic and science activities, exchange of publications, report and other academic materials of common interests and other activities and programmes in areas of mutual interest, benefitting both parties.
Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef addressed the gathering and stated that this MOU will assist to commence joint academic programs including degrees and masters offered by Edith Cowan University. He also noted that this collaboration pledges a staff and student exchange programme.
