Two undergraduate students, Mariyam Nuha (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science) and Aishath Einas (Bachelor of Nursing), represented the Maldives National University at the 2nd Bali Democracy Students Conference (BDSC) held in Bali, Indonesia from 6th and 7th December 2018.
The conference, which has been organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, aims to create awareness among students on the issues of democracy. The main objectives of the conference are to provide a forum for young generation from many countries to discuss issues concerning democracy, transfer and share knowledge about the discourse on democracy at the BDF to young generation as well as get inputs, new ideas, and absorb aspiration and perspectives of the students concerning democracy.
Participants of BDSC convened the opening session jointly with the participants of BDF XI and Bali Civil Society and Media Forum (BCSMF) and continued with the Panel Discussions within BDSC during the first day.
On the 2nd day, participants re-joined with participants of BDF XI and BCSMF in the Panel Discussions and closing sessions. A representative of BDSC will be invited to deliver a report at the Closing Session.
