FHTS opens a “Campus” at Centara Resort

At a ceremony held at Centara Grand Resort, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies has signed an agreement of cooperation with the management to conduct FHTS-accredited courses in the resort. The function was held at the Centara Institute of Resort Management (CIRM). The CIRM event was attended by the senior officials of the ministries dealing with tourism and human resources. The welcome speech was given by Mr John Bendtsen, the General Manager of the resort.

 

At the function, the Minister of Human Resources, Youth and Sports, Hon. Hassan Latheef  also spoke. From FHTS side, Mr Anil Adam addressed the gathering. Under the agreement, CIRM hopes to train Maldivian youth to work in different occupations of the sector.

 

The Minister spoke of the importance of industry initiatives in promoting gainful employment among youth. FHTS has been conducting resort-based training for many years. Many resorts have expressed interest to work with FHTS to further their goals.
